No Spawn-campingThe Cartel is not allowed to stalk, surround, or fire upon the Task Force Serpent self-respawn location.
Cartel Respawn RulesPrior to startex, you will be issued two elastic respawn bandages. Keep them in a safe place like a closed pocket so that they don't get lost.During the game, if you, your gun, anything you’re holding, or anything worn on your body are struck by a BB, a foam sword, or a stealth hit such as a "knife kill" (shoulder tap), then you’re immediately considered to be hit and out of play. After being hit, you’re expected to loudly call out "Hit, hit, hit!" as you pull out and wave your red rag a couple times before placing it on your head. You want your attacker to know that they hit you so that you’ll no longer be targeted for more hits. Close-range hits don’t require such loud acknowledgements. Stealth-hits are to be acknowledged silently by simply donning the red rag without saying “hit” or anything else. You may not shoot at or attempt to hit anyone else while you’re a hit player. You may not communicate with live players or use radios other than to announce that you’ve been hit, request a medic, or get directions to your faction's next-phase starting location. On the other hand, as a hit player, you may speak to other hit players about anything as long as it’s spoken quietly enough to where no live players will overhear the conversation. Any game props that are larger/longer than a basketball must be dropped at your feet when you’re hit, but please keep your own guns and gear with you at all times. After putting on your red rag, you must remain in place. If you are in the line of fire, you may move just far enough away to get out of it. You may call “medic” to let the Cartel members around you know that it's safe for them to respawn you back into the game by coming to you first. The respawn is performed by the live Cartel member putting one of your bandages on your arm. Sometimes there may be no hope of anyone coming to bandage you back in, and you don’t want to wait until the current phase ends. If this happens, you always have the option to give up on the current phase and go wait out of play at your faction's next-phase starting location. But, you’re locked into this option once you start moving there, and your remaining bandage(s) may not be used during the current phase. Also, you may never have more than two bandages at a time on your arm which is commensurate to having three lives:life → bandage → life → bandage → lifeWhen you get hit after that, you must go to your faction's next-phase starting location to reset your bandages and wait for the next phase to start so that you can restart this cycle over again. To reset your bandages, simply take them off of your arm and put them back in your pocket.Respawn trees are not in play. You may not loan or give your bandages to anyone else; likewise, you may not borrow or receive anyone else's bandages. Therefore, if you accidentally lose your bandages, it will hinder you for the remainder of the game!
Back StoryTwo years ago, the Mexican Army carried out a widely successful operation to destroy major Cartel assets but also severely damaged the legitimate pieces of infrastructure they had seized control of. In the wake of this operation, repairs to critical provincial utilities have been slow or left completely undone. After the military was drawn down and replaced by Federal Police, tensions only flared hotter as a return to corrupt practices was quick to set in. Soon rumors began to fly that not only had the Los Culos Sucios Cartel not been cleared out successfully, they’ve begun to reform their operations in the deep parts of the nearby National Forest.Three months ago, prominent Mexican journalist, Alejandro Vasquez, broke a major story that accused the military of carrying out at least one extrajudicial killing of a young man alleged to be a Cartel member during their operation. Supported by leaked video of the execution, tensions exploded with mass civil unrest and an open return to Cartel violence province-wide that has lingered ever since. Two weeks ago, the Cartel came fully out into the open when they carried out a series of drone attacks on, not only Mexican forces, but also the nearby American border causing numerous military and civilian casualties. In response both nations' Presidents have agreed to American intervention in the Harris province with Task Force Serpent looking to put the resurgent Cartel out of business for good.
SequenceTask Force Serpent will be given a series of missions to complete one at a time with the goal of destroying Cartel capabilities. Each mission has a maximum of 60 minutes to be accomplished. If still incomplete at 60 minutes, the game will move on to the next mission phase regardless. Any missions completed within the time allotted will allow the next phase to begin earlier. Between each phase, the game will enter a brief pausex to allow both sides to get ready for the next. Cartel starting locations, rally sites, and special instructions will be revealed to them just prior to the start of each phase.
Phase 1: Border AssaultTask Force Serpent will start from their self-respawn at Alpha Base. They are to clear out the Cartel watch posts at Bravo, Charlie, and Delta by placing explosives within the walls of each base and using the Baofeng radio located there to announce it. Game Control will immediately acknowledge the transmission and consider that base destroyed. Bomb detonations do not cause hits to players regardless of proximity. Each bomb prop is longer than a basketball and must be dropped when the player carrying it is hit. This phase ends as soon as all three bases are destroyed or 60 minutes is reached.
Phase 2: Drone OperationsTask Force Serpent will start from their self-respawn at Bravo Base. SIGINT has passed information that the Cartel is operating its drone command out of Echo Base. Within that base, Task Force Serpent must find and "drag" the drone commander (dead or alive) and his equipment to Bravo Base and announce it using the radio there. They will be provided intel on how to identify the drone commander and his specialized equipment.Task Force Serpent must also plant a bomb in the center of Echo Base and announce it using the radio there. This phase ends as soon as all of these objectives are completed or 60 minutes is reached.
Phase 3: Journalist RescueTask Force Serpent will start from their self-respawn which is still at Bravo Base. Mexican journalist, Alejandro Vasquez, has been abducted by the Cartel for daring to investigate and report on their return to power. He is being held in the Prison and must be recovered before his execution. Once found, Task Force Serpent must escort Mr. Vasquez to Bravo Base and announce it using the radio there. If Mr. Vasquez is wounded from a hit during the course of this rescue operation, Task Force Serpent will need to "drag" him to Bravo. This phase ends as soon as Mr. Vasquez arrives at Bravo or 60 minutes is reached.
