Squads & CluesPlayers will divide up into squads of somewhat equal size based on our total turnout. Each player will receive a clue card that must be displayed while they are hit. Each squad must have one squad leader who will receive a detective sheet and is responsible for documenting the information seen on the clue cards in order to solve the murder mystery. Each squad leader is required to have a working two-way radio, and we have a few loaners available. If you need to leave before the game is over, you must first turn in your clue card to the moderator. The information on the card will be announced to all squad leaders. Please do not take the cards off the field.
Hit & Respawn RulesCall your hit. Put your red rag on your head. Sit for five minutes (300 seconds) out of play. Then, after your five minutes have run out, you may remain seated while waiting for a live player to come respawn you back in, or you may stand and move to catch up with your buddies and be respawned by one of them at a safe respawn tree or self-respawn location. The person who respawns you does so by tapping you. But, once you start moving, you may no longer be respawned with a tap.During your five minutes as a hit player, you must hold up your clue card and make it visible to the players around you. You are not allowed to hide your card from live nearby players. Hit players who have completed their five minutes of required sit time are not required to continue to display their clue cards even if they have chosen to wait longer for someone to come to them. Hit players may only communicate to call for a medic or say whether it's safe to be respawned.Self-respawn locations will be available if you are hit and separated from your squad or if your entire squad gets wiped out. All squads/players will share these same four self-respawn locations at Gully Entrance, Harris Bridge, Logger's Entrance, and South Bridge as shown in orange on the map below. Do not attack other squads/players when they happen to be respawning near the same time and at the same self-respawn location as you. Instead, just move away peacefully in separate directions.
Radio CommunicationChannel 1 (462.5625 MHz) is reserved for field staff and game announcements. Squads may pick any other radio channel to use for internal communication. VOX mode, hot mic-ing, and channel jamming are all prohibited. Please familiarize yourself with your radio and program in its channels before arriving at the field.
GoalEach squad is allowed to guess the solution to the mystery once every 30 minutes during the game by announcing one person, one location, and one murder weapon. There is no penalty for an incorrect guess. A moderator with the winning combination will monitor channel 1 to receive guesses over the radio. Once the combination is correctly guessed, the game will end and all players will rally to hand in their cards and reset the game. We will play multiple rounds. The squad with the most correct guesses at the end of the day will be declared the winner!
